Tomas Jose Silber sserved as Director for Education and Training of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children’s National and is Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and Health Care Sciences at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He is boarded in pediatrics with a subspecialty board in adolescent medicine. He was Director of the Pediatric Ethics Program and chair of the Ethics committee at Children’s National. A graduate of “Colegio Acassuso” and “Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Buenos Aires” (M.D.) and The George Washington University (M.A.S.S.), Dr. Silber completed his pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and upon moving to the United States completed yet another pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Children’s National, where he joined the faculty in 1973 as the Director of Adolescent Medicine OPD. Currently, he is a consultant at  the Donald Delaney Eating Disorders Program. He is a past chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Bioethics and coauthor of the AAP Ca​se Based Teaching Guides for Resident Training​, and over 300 editorials, articles, book chapters and seven books in his over 50 years of medical practice. In 2021 the Section on Bioethics of the American Academy of Pediatrics gave him the Bartholome Award for Excellence in Ethics.

Stowe Locke Teti is a clinical ethicist with the Center for Clinical and Organizational Ethics at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA. He was formerly a core faculty member at the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics and a Lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine, where he was the director of the Center’s Writing Support Program and Editor-in-Chief of the HMS Bioethics Journal. Prior to joining the Harvard Medical School faculty, he completed six years of clinical training on the Clinical Ethics Consult Service at Children’s National Health Center in Washington, D.C. with Tomas Silber, where he developed his focus on pediatric ethics and led development of Pediatric Ethicscope isince 2012. Stowe co-founded the Washington D.C. Clinical Ethics Consortium in 2016, which brings clinicians and scholars together from the ethics departments and universities across the Washington D.C. Metro Area to discuss issues in common and promote collaboration. Stowe continues to work on inter-hospital collaboration and data sharing infrastructure for clinical ethics.

Timothy J. Furlan is currently Burnett Family Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Director of the Center for Ethical Leadership at the University of St Thomas in Houston, TX.  He previously studied the classical liberal arts at Thomas Aquinas College before going on to pursue graduate studies with a focus on ancient philosophy and ethical theory at the University of Chicago (M.A.) the Universite de Paris IV (Sorbonne), and Trinity College Dublin (Ph.D.). During his doctoral studies he also held visiting fellowships in Fribourg (Swiss Confederation Scholar), Munich, and Athens. More recently, he pursued post-graduate study in bioethics at Harvard Medical School and earned his Masters of Bioethics (summa cum laude) and served as editor of the Harvard Journal of Bioethics. He was previously a philosophy professor at Xavier University and Boston College where he taught a wide range of courses and led study trips to Wyoming, Montana, Alaska, Ireland, Paris, India, and along the Camino to Santiago de Compostela.
